August 1, 2020.
Megan and Zak got married at a private location on a beautiful Saturday. Despite Covid really shaking things up, they did the dang thing. With many alterations, the day still went on, they still got married, they still celebrated with all of their loved ones, and it was perfect.
The beautiful thing about down-sized weddings, is bride and grooms actually get to SEE and TALK to their guests. I can’t tell you how fast it goes by, from a bride perspective, and how hectic it gets, from a family perspective. Although Covid really did a number on my couples this year, the silver lining is spending time with those who really mean something to you, and actually spending time with them, not just greeting them and moving on.
Zak and Meg ended up with so many portraits from me, because the day just allowed for that to happen. Maybe it didn’t happen where it was planned, maybe the bigger party and more picturesque reception will happen down the road, but the important thing remains; they got married.
These two honestly are so so sweet. This was the first wedding I have had with a full bridal party since March, so it was fun to come back and let my people just have fun while documenting them. Thank you, both of you, for trusting me with your day, for still getting married, and for making this day about YOU and not just the people, the photos, or the things that fade away quickly.
