Katie + Dylan

9.19.20

Katie and Dylan celebrated intimately at Dylan’s family’s house instead of at a venue they had planned. Like a lot of my weddings, they decided to do a small elopement this year, but throw a party later next year [which is cool because then I can do a lil follow up shoot with them on their anniversary]. This wedding, however, felt so different to me. Here is how:

Wedding parties sometimes get wrapped up in what they look like, or are not enthusiastic about images, and sometimes are just there to drink. Because Dylan and Katie shifted their plans to include just small amounts of people; being close family and friends, their bridal party went above and beyond to make the day feel larger than life. I think I said to Dylan several times how much I hope he cherishes his friends. Their love for Katie and Dylan as a unit, was overwhelming. They all had hilarious ideas, they all were enthusiastic, they all just showed an incredible about of love. Same goes for Dylan and Katie’s families as well.

This day felt just as big as it was, small crowd or large crowd. The day went perfect, the lighting was beautiful, and they left me so much time to make art [my fave]. Also it helped that Katie and Kaila [bff] really talked about my art all day [lol] so it was just fun to be there, for me, in general.

Congrats you two, I cannot wait to see you next year for the other celebration.
