Brie + Boyd

An Elopement in Loveland Pass, Colorado

Brie and Boyd <3 These two and I have had quite the year. Their wedding was altered 3 different times this year due to Covid, Family, etc, and finally they called me and basically said, “this has been a wild time and we really wanted to elope but just were trying to do the big wedding thing and its just not working out, so we want to elope, but we need you there.” What a compliment. I looked at my schedule and saw one weekend I had off for the year, moved some scheduled shoots around [my sessions were SO understanding] and booked the weekend.

The elopement ended up being perfect, and I dragged my best friends and husband along to make it a longer get away weekend while I wasn’t working. Brie and Boyd had 4 seasons in one on their wedding day [mountain weather is insane], and I guess the biggest thing I learned is if you are going to elope in the mountains in the months outside of June-August, you should do the ceremony in the morning [lol]. Within 30 minutes of waiting for people to arrive in Loveland Pass, it went from 40 and sunny to 12 and started to blizzard. However, friends and family pulled through the cold and stood by their side and they said their ‘i do’s’ in the snow. Sometimes it even looked like my images were out of focus it was snowing so hard [lol it was no joke]. After the ceremony we re-routed and did family images under cover and they got to celebrate their night with their people, all in the ways they had hoped <3
