August 20th, 2016
Libby and Kevin tied their knot this summer, and it was an absolute blast.
But, this day was not like any other wedding I have photographed.
Kristen and I arrived around 1:00 pm to start the day.
It was raining, and predicted to rain all day.
I get really excited when it rains because it allows me to be even more creative then during a typical sunny day… so I had no worries.
About an hour into the day, and a tornado warning went off in Michigan. I repeat, in Michigan.
We had to take cover for about 30 minutes or so, and then finally made our way to Boatwerks, were the ceremony was being held.
After that fun event, it became extremely hot out… followed by rain, followed by some mass amounts of wind, and then the day became quiet, with many storm clouds.
The rain held off for the ceremony, so it could be taken place outside, and then the reception began.
About an hour into that, a rainbow appeared.
It was the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen, as it matched with the storm clouds.
Sometimes beautiful images in photography is created by the user, sometimes we just get lucky.
