These two and I met a little last minute as they searched for a photographer to document their quaint and intimate wedding ceremony. I met them about a month or so before their wedding and walked around the park and captured their engagement photographs. The following month I was able to capture their ceremony around Detroit at a beautiful historical location in Birmingham, Michigan.
Ashly and Gilles said their “I Do’s” in The Community House with selectively chosen friends and family. Unfortunately due to the virus and restricted travel, Gilles’ family couldn’t attend the event, so he set up a live stream with their seated placements by his computer to let them witness their new steps as a couple. Although a sad and damper on many hearts, Gilles mentioned in his vows that although he isn’t in his childhood country, and although he’s away from his family, his new comfort and what feels like home is Ashly.
These two share such a strong bond and I loved spending the day with them. This was also, the hottest day I’ve ever photographed in [lol], but was worth every sweat bead down my back. Here are some of my favorite images. Also, sneak the end with Gilles and his lovely americana garden [lmao].
